NEW Travel Advisory from California Department of Public Health (CDPH)

Dear Parents/Guardians:

While it is our hope that individuals in our school community will opt to stay home or travel only in our region this holiday season, we anticipate that some families will travel out of our region.  As such, we wanted to update you on two pieces of new guidance issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH):

On November 13, 2020, CDPH issued a Travel Advisory for non-essential travel recommending that Californians stay home or in their region and avoid non-essential travel to other states or countries. CDPH also recommends that persons engaged in non-essential travel outside of California practice self-quarantine for 14 days after their return to the state.   “Non-essential travel” includes travel that is considered tourism or recreational in nature.

On November 16, 2020, CDPH issued updated Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings mandating state-wide that all people in California wear face coverings when they are outside of the home, unless an exception in the guidance applies.

We are asking our school community for partnership in keeping our schools safe by adhering to this new guidance as the incidence of COVID-19 continues to increase in many states and countries. If anyone in your household travels outside of California, please self-quarantine and contact your student’s school office. Students will be required to quarantine for 14 days after any travel outside of California.

Please be mindful to continue completing daily symptom review of your student before reporting to school each day.  Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, sore throat, muscle aches and pains, fatigue, headache, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and new loss of smell or taste.  If anyone in your household is exhibiting ANY of these symptoms, please DO NOT send your student back to school and instead notify the district office at 758-8447.

Thank you in advance for your attention to these important safety matters.  Enjoy your holidays!
