Independent Study - 2021-2022 School Year

The Governor of the State of California has signed AB/SB 130. This Budget trailer bill governs how school districts in California may provide virtual learning and independent study during the 2021-2022 school year. This serves as notice to parents that the Wasco Union School District will be offering both in-person instruction and an independent study option for students during the 2021-2022 school year.
Parents choosing to have their child participate in the district’s independent study option may be allowed to transition back to in-person instruction per district board policy (BP 6158). Independent Study will follow the policy and guidelines set forth for students in grades 9 - 12 to include weekly live interaction one day per week.

*Live interaction includes wellness checks, progress monitoring, and provision of services. This interaction may take place in person or in the form of internet or telephonic communication.

If you are interested in receiving more information on the WUHSD independent study option, you may request a student-parent-educator conference meeting by contacting the Wasco Union High School at (661)-758-7400 or Wasco Independence High School at (661)-758-7450.
