Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is an option for school districts that historically serve high-poverty students. It allows ALL students a free breakfast and a free lunch each day without having to apply for Free and Reduced Lunch status through the National School Lunch Program. Both Wasco High and Independence High participate in CEP which allows ALL students in the Wasco Union High School District to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost.

However, Free and Reduced Eligibility is STILL important to determine how much supplemental funding we can receive from state and federal sources. The Wasco Union High School District needs to collect this information through a CONFIDENTIAL FAMILY SURVEY. This survey simply allows the District to identify how many students meet the Free and Reduced Eligibility criteria because many state and federal funding sources use that information to determine how much extra funding the District receives annually.
